Is there any way of interacting with Twitter that doesn't leave one feeling like they're in a constant shower of confetti?

My brain has a dreadful time with the inundation of all those tiny, discrete bits of information. It prefers things in nice big chunks that it can focus on, process, finish with, and then move on to the next -- one at a time. It does not do well with a grain of this, a niblet of that, a morsel of something else, the odd atom or two of eighteen other unrelated things... GAH.

Has anyone with similar issues figured out how to deal with this? Are there Twitter tools that help one manage such things?

This question brought to you by the apparent migration of much of the podficcing community to Twitter, leaving me feeling left behind and out of the loop, wondering where the party went.

I need some warm-ups to ramp back up into podficcing before I re-commence my dS/C6D Big Bang projects and the Giles fic series, all of which are large.

So I'm opening this up to my flist / circle folks.

If you have written something reasonably short (roughly between 1000 and 3500 words, but both of those numbers have some give in them) that you'd like me to consider recording, leave me a comment with a link to the story. You can offer two stories (max), but I'll only be recording one per author.

It has to be a fandom I know, but that's a long list. For starters, Buffyverse, Highlander, SG-1, SGA, NCIS, due South & C6D, Harry Potter, SPN, Sherlock, Elementary, AS&J, House, Lie to Me, West Wing, White Collar... and that's just off the top of my head. If in doubt, ask.

Gen (have I mentioned lately that I love gen? because I do), het, slash, femslash, and bitextual are all fine; any rating is okay. Crossovers are fine, as long as I'm familiar with both fandoms.

Exclusions (for this purpose): Non-con as kink, torture porn, incest pairings, scat/watersports, mpreg, RPF, unrelenting angst. In NCIS, no Tony/Ziva. In due South, no RayV slash. No BSG, Durham County, or Slap Shot 2. (Disclaimer: No judgment implied; these are just things I prefer not to record. Well, except for Slap Shot 2, which just plain sucks. CKR isn't even hot in it, which I'm pretty sure violates the laws of physics.)

Waffle-thought: I'm usually not much into BDSM, but I'm not opposed to it. Feel free to offer it, but I may find myself more drawn to other things... or not? Hard to say. I'll try to be open to most anything.

No promises on which ones I'll do, or how many. Put 'em out there, and I'll take a run at some.

Also: Why do I not have a podficcing icon? This a wrong thing. Surely there must be some out there somewhere.

ETA since [personal profile] china_shop brought up a good point: It's absolutely okay if you, the author, don't enjoy listening to podfic! You don't have to listen to the recording or give me feedback. It's still fine to offer your story for other people to listen to. :-)
