The Exchange at Fic Corner is now open, and it feels a bit like Yuletide has come early, or at least a wee teaser, with over a hundred works posted, mostly in microfandoms.

I couldn't read most, being unfamiliar with the source (apparently I should be reading Diana Wynne Jones?), but I found some gems written in fandoms I did know, and two (so far) that I particularly want to rec.

The first is a Homeric Seussian tale (no, really!) that I fervently hope someone will podfic, as it clearly needs to be read aloud.

It's 1915;
Jane is 13 and in love with the soldiers. Michael is 11 and in love with the war. Mrs. Banks is struggling to be both a mother and work in a munitions plant, and Mr Banks isn’t sure how he ended up cooking dinner.
The war has turned London and the Bankses upside down, and Mary Poppins, inimitably, sorts it out.
