So the whole posting every day thing sort of fell off, didn't it? But it's probably just as well, since I was failing to be very interesting. I think I'd rather try to be interesting once or twice a week? Or something like that? We shall see.
Latest thing to catch my eye is
extreme_bigbang, for which one can write 100K+ words (yeah, no, not if you are me) or make however many vids or thus and such amount of art... or podfic 100K+ words.
On the one hand, I have an incredibly deep wish for Theowyn's pair of Harry Potter epic fics (gen, focusing on Snape & Harry, reads like canon but takes a different path) to be podficced. I even went so far as to get the author's permission for *cough* any interested party to record them.
On the other hand, it's 404K words. That's... 40 hours of podfic? Which... hahahaha oh fuck. /o\ And they're basically one story; the second picks up immediately after the first ends, and it's all one long, involved arc. So there's no point in doing just one unless you're going to do the second one, too.
It's especially daunting to think about so soon after losing 50K+ words of finished podfic in that hard drive crash; I'm still trying to get over feeling vaguely nauseated at the thought of recording again. (I know that will pass. I just don't know how quickly.)
What are you lovely people doing, creatively speaking?
Anybody pondering this 10 in 10 thing that
astolat et al are doing? If you haven't heard of it, it's writing and posting ten somethings in ten days, without fussing over perfection, getting them beta'd, all that stuff. The idea is to get the creative juices flowing and get into the habit of writing something, anything, keeping it moving. I only wish my brain would do that, but I know better than to try.
