Passing For Normal

The good news: The plumbing patch has held (well enough, anyway) and my house will be completely re-plumbed on Saturday! \o/ Apparently there's a plus side to living in a mobile home: all the plumbing is in a straight line down one side of the house. Quick and easy for the plumber, so he can do it all in one day. Lucky for me, and for Dan & Suzi who are paying for it.

The weirdness: For reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, I'm not staying with D&S while this is underway, and instead booked myself into a local Super 8 motel tomorrow night. I can sleep in and I won't need to worry about access to functional plumbing until after checkout time at noon, and then I can go run errands and do holiday shopping and otherwise kill time until the plumbing job is done and I can come back home. And my peace of mind will be immeasurably enhanced. So I booked the reservation through the motel chain's online website... and the next thing I know, my stay there is on my Google Calendar and I'm getting reminder notifications about it. WTF I DON'T EVEN. GOOGLE. CUT THAT OUT. DON'T BE A CREEPER. O_O

In other news, I am having fun and kicking major tush on the podfic front and may soon be in need of a supplemental beta, preferably someone who's not participating in DSSS. It's been so long since I've had energy or the ability to feel real enthusiasm that I'm almost giddy with it. I actually get bored now. Do you know how long it's been since I've felt real boredom? The itch to get up and do something? I can't even remember how long; it seems like forever. This is a good feeling. I don't trust that it will last. I have lost faith in that. But wow, it's good. This is good.

Who knows, my journal may even get less boring one of these days. *g*
