Yay for visiting pups! They make everything better.
You have my complete sympathy re: the politically divergent views of the planet thing. It's hard enough keeping my mouth shut when I'm visiting my conservative folks once a month. Actually living with that kind of restriction for two months straight? OMG, you win ALL the Very Good Friend prizes!
Yeah, I miss Windows XP, too. I've got Windows 7 in the new HP, and I don't much care for it. Bleah. Though I'm on my old Mac at the moment, 'cause Norton got the HP all tangled up, and while I'm pretty sure how to fix it, ugh, I just don't feel like spending time screwing around with it right now, so... *handwavey hands* Meh. One of these days.
