1) I have died and gone to heaven. There are SIX HOURS of Olympic equestrian cross-country footage that I can watch any time I like, online replay on demand. And the same is true or will be true of all the other equestrian events. I would have paid a lot of money for this, whether or not I could afford it, but instead I can watch for free. I am boggling with joy.

2) This CBC news story and the accompanying photo should be a due South fic prompt: Photo of hot air balloon in Arctic up for award.

3) My awesomely upgraded desktop computer has a VERY LOUD motherboard fan, which makes podfic recording really difficult. It's not even consistent, so it could fade into ignorable (if undesirable) background white noise. No, it does this turbo whine thing, constantly revving up and slowing back down whenever I do absolutely anything at all. And it was graciously, generously, and ever so painstakingly built for me by friend Dan the Man, so I don't even have yelling rights, even though I stressed to him over and over that my number one criterion for the upgrades was that everything be as quiet as possible. ARGH. I'm sure I'll figure something out, somehow, but at the moment I am frustrated and vexed.

How are you? What's making you happy today? What's vexing you? Who does your brain put in that hot air balloon?

I'm putting malefeasants in the balloon, possibly with Dief. He's got them huddled up in a corner of the gondola.

And the [community profile] poetry community is making me happy, along with discovering The Losers fanfic.

*hugs*

Malfeasants! Miscreants! I like this. And yes, of course Dief would have leapt in there with them. :-D

The Losers, eh? I've seen our Brig posting fic, but I can barely remember the movie. Does it matter terribly? Is canon knowledge important?

Our Brig's fic is excellent!

I am compiling some recs, as I've found myself back-buttoning a fair bit on AO3.

I haven't seen the movie and cannot read comics, so I would say canon knowledge is barely relevant. There are pretty pictures of them on the imdb page, where I read the plot synopsis and didn't really feel like I've missed anything. The pictures were a sufficient visual aid for my filthy mind.

A filthy mind is, indeed, a blessing. *beams*

Thanks. I'll happily anticipate your recs, and will check out some stories. :-)

The Olympics is making me happy!

*rolls around in 25 channels of 24/7 livestreaming via the BBC*

Also the fact that there are giant (free!) screens up in Hyde and Victoria parks up London, so it is entirely possibly to picnic and watch Olympics and soak up atmosphere :D
