For those of you who are up to date with the series: I've been reading (or, more accurately, listening to the audiobooks) in the Wikipedia internal chronological order, and I've just finished Diplomatic Immunity. By publication date, Cryoburn is next, but Wikipedia says that Captain Vorpatril's Alliance is next in the internal chronology.

Which would y'all recommend I read next, and which last?

BTW, as much as I like and enjoy Miles -- which is to say, a really whole lot -- my heart will always, always belong to Aral and Cordelia. I also have major weaknesses for Simon Illyan and Gregor Vorbarra. (I have a type, yes. It would seem that I do.)

This totally doesn't help, but I loved Diplomatic Immunity. I haven't read Captain Vorpatril's Alliance. And Cryoburn...hurt.

Diplomatic Immunity was grand, wasn't it? I could not stop listening until I finished it last night. Or rather, significantly into the wee hours of this morning.

I'm terrified that Bujold is going to kill Aral at some point. From a character development standpoint, it makes sense; Miles needs to lose his father in order to become what he will ultimately be. But if/when it does happen, it's going to about half kill me.
